21 Habits of Successful Leaders

Through my own experiences as a motivational keynote speaker on Leadership, along with my research and observations I have a come up with 21 habits that I believe successful leaders live by.
- They consistently feel good about themselves and believe in their own abilities.
- They help others to feel good about themselves and help others believe in their own abilities.
- They understand all business is about feelings and that people will never forget how you made them feel.
- They touch people’s hearts with stories so they actually want to make positive changes.
- They create an environment in which people can be the best they can be – joy filled, fear free.
- They are life long learners. They love to grow and develop and have an openness to new ideas- and an open heart.
- They question WHY things have to be a certain way and are willing to change, explore and try new things.
- They are generous with their time and praise.
- They see growing and developing others as a key part of their job.
- They ask for help.
- They seek out the best and learn from them – on purpose.
- They have a purpose and meaning for what they do – and inspire others with meaning and purpose.
- They are optimistic – they see mistakes as opportunities to learn , not failures.
- They are resilient – they bounce back because the story they CHOOSE to tell themselves is encouraging, compassionate or inspiring.
- They work at understanding their fears and don’t allow the fears to unconsciously rule their lives or behaviors.
- They are conscious of the fears that rule most people’s behaviors and address the needs that once met, eradicate those fears.
- They focus on things for which to be grateful – no matter what happens. They are ‘good finders’.
- They take responsibility for themselves and their actions – no blaming others!
- They lift up others – they are joy facilitators! They have fun!
- They are connected to something bigger than themselves.
- They have great vision and can instil that vision and hold it for others.
In short – they are emotionally conscious of themselves and others; they are comfortable with themselves; and they are JOYFUL!
