Mel, my fabulous VP of Everything, and I have been working on how we can help our clients and friends right now. We believe the real secret to thriving while working from home and making the best of the current circumstances is to engage with your Joy Buddies.
In this chaotic time of uncertainty and change, we can easily be sucked into feeling anxious and fearful. In fact, it’s hard not to because the field if full of fear and anxiety – the ‘vibe’ is everywhere. Supermarkets, malls and streets are empty and the media is terrifying!
STOP – do not buy into it all!
Inform yourself and be responsible – but use the strategies we will share with you to eradicate the fear. Use intelligence not mass hysteria and fully live.
One of the hardest things to do for all leaders now is to keep their teams connected and feeling like they belong….you can use all of the posters we will be sending you to do this.
If you encourage your teams to identify two Joy Buddies with whom they commit to do the activities that are suggested it will work on many different levels.
Joy Buddies are resilience buddies; accountability buddies; reframing buddies; immune boosting buddies and stress busters – among other things.
If you introduce this idea and position it well, this can be a great strategy for maintaining connection within your team.

I am working on a series of videos about RE- framing everything that is going on right now – it’s our perceptions and stories that cause the most problems – so changing or re-framing how we see things is a critical skill.
Under the ‘RE’ banner is the core concept of Remembering your Essence…and your humanity. Thanks to David Martin, my mentor for this focus. The sense of community that can be generated and culture that can be created remotely, centres around people being authentic, open and honest with each other.
Our idea is that this whole experience is a fabulous way to give us time to work ON our selves, our lives and our work – to create something much better than when we were all caught up IN the drama and busy-ness of life.

Re align to what really matters to you
And more! There are a LOT of ‘RE’s’ out there! LOL.

Twice a week, we will bring you ideas or laughs you can share with all your colleagues, family or friends to stay connected, to remember your humanity, to feel you belong, to feel you are making a contribution and making use of the extra time that has popped up as a ‘gift’ for all of us – IF we choose to perceive it that way!
