Health & Wellbeing

From Amanda's very early writing (1990s to early 2000s), shared as it was originally written.

NEEDS WORK

Out of Richard's awareness, his cells are suffocating. Gasping for the oxygen that would keep them alive, the solid fats wrap around them suffocating them in the same way a pillow over the mouth and nose deprives humans of life giving oxygen. The same fats start a mutation process , interrupting the natural functioning of cells. Heart muscle starves and dies, arteries clog, cancers grow.

And all as a result of Richard's diet (or nutrition intake).

Sometimes, in life we come across life changing pieces of information. This column is about the research of Dr Johanna Budwig - a German professor , scientist and biochemist and a Nobel prize NOMINEE. PLEASE keep this article and show it to anyone you care about - that's how important I believe this information is. A reasearch pioneer in the field of fats and cancer nad health, Dr Budwig has since the 1950's been curing people of cancer without surgery or drugs. (I know this is a strong statement that sceptics could seize, but the facts are there. Her fat/protein rich nutrition regime is well recognized and she has proof of her results.)

Not only is this information importnat for cancer sufferers, it also has enormous impact on everyday wellness and normal body functioning. It can improve fertility and may well be an answer to the fountain of youth.

Now, those folks who read my column regularly will be astonished at how serious I have been so far - but that's because I think this is the most importnat piece of research I have found in all my years of searching for ways to improve our wellness or maximize the quality of our lives.

I first heard of Dr Budwig's work from a friend of mine in America who after a career as a very successful business man, has deveoted his time to exploring the most effective ways for maximising wellness and developing our full physiological potential - in other words, how to live longer , better, happier and neutralise the myriads of toxins that we are exposed to daily. If you are interested in this or in reducing your chances of developing cancer or of possibly curing cancer, read on!

First we need ot understand the truth about fats. Before you shake your head and mutter 'I know, she's going ot rabbit on about cholesterol' -Wrong! There is a dirth of knowledge among the general public about fats and their essential role in life. Fundamental nutrition, according to Dr Budwig, revolves around four basic categories - oil, protein, fruit and vegetables.Frank'ss, his cells are suffocating , ghat would keep them alive. S(from margerines, butters, and other saturated fats) held joints and muscles become rheumatic/ arthritic and the food FrankeatsSometimesand! But other than that it's just an ordinary article.n American, in modern lifestylesFirst we need totoWe desparately need to know more

There are 'good fats' and 'bad fats'
I'll try to simplify this as much as I can. Fats are made up of glycerine. Glycerine has 3 arms and a chain of fatty acids is attached to each arm. These chains have a varying number of links within them. Those with smaller numbers of links (butter - 4 links, coconut butter has 14 links) are saaturated fats. These cannot be translated into body energy without essential fatty acids, which are only released from highly, unsaturated fats.

Unsaturated fats have 18 links or more and there are a number of weak links in this chain. These weak links ( or weak, unsaturated connections) can be broken down and will allow the fatty acids to combine with proteins (which are the basic building blocks of the body) which makes the fatty acids water soluble, so they are then available to the body for renewal adn for energy purposes.. Olive oil only has one unsaturated link - so it's not harmful but it's not hte best oil to boost our life battery.!
are the bad fats andThe 'goodies' are u andhave in the

@@bmicals move etc. Highly unsaturated fats (HUF) appear to generate a field of electrons. (Keep reading - this is important and gets easier!) Imagine a car battery - it's the source of power for the car. In the same way , every cell in our bodies acts like a car that needs a battery to keep it going. Eating HUF with their electron field is the quivalent of recharging the car battery.

It's like a three armed , lego squid! The main body of the squid is the glycerine and a series of Lego blocks put together in a chain form the arms. Each block represents a fatty acid. Some of these fatty acid blocks are 'loose' and the chain can easily be broken. At the point of the break, the fatty acids (little lego blocks) move off to join up with a protein (another color lego block). So now we have a substance that is a fatty acid mixed with a protein. And it's

(especially brain and nerve cells - important for stress affected people)- essentailly it's how humans live

less scientificThe squid is powered by a battery. It'shas lots of little 'battery come life charging' electrons.

But wait - there's more!

Not only do these HUF give us a 'charge' each day, they also enhance the absorption of oxygen at a cellular level. In other words, without adequate HUF or fatty acids in our blood and body, our cells cannot breathe.

Solid or unsaturated fats are not water soluble and do not mix witht he blood and cells. Instead they are isolated by the body because it is bad stuff - so if you eat a lot of saturated fats, you have lots of globs of fat clogging up your blood. Try pouring some oil on water and see the globs - that's what saturated fats look like in your blood.4 links) are sa

So what does this mean you ask? It means that in our society most people need to add more HUF to their diets to have energy , vitality and to fight cancers, arthritis and heart disease. And the best way to do this according to Dr Budwig is to follow this formula: once a day take 1 tablespoon of Flaxseed oil - it must be pure, organic and unrefined, and the sort that you must keep refrigerated and in the dark. Mix it well with a tablespoon of cottage cheese (protein) so that it emulsifies (blends completely) and eat it. This flaxseed oil is one of the best sources of HUF available and by mixing it with cottage cheese we make it readily available for absorption by the body.

This needs to be as part of a three step process: 1.the flaxseed oil, 2. look at all food products that have a shelf life and if you see hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats don't eat it. I'll explain why in the next article and 3. eat more vegetables and fruit.(we all knew that anyway)

So there it is. A proven formula for recharging your life batteries. Dr Budwig has found something that I think will revolutionise the way we think about what we eat. And more of this next week!
