I'm a Winner
At a conference in Fiji this week (someone has to do it), I heard the most wonderful true story. The brother of a man I met at the conference on lotto about three years ago. He was what the lotto people called a 'deserving winner'!
This man, aa good man who made some other than wise decisions, had been through a difficult divorce, lost his wife and children as a result of of behavior. A subsequent live in relationship failed as did his job , although he had his own non operating company. He saw himself as a loser; his self esteem was non existent and he was depressed.
At the peak of his 'down and out'period, his brother and sister were helping support him and he had fifty dollars left to his name. With the earnings from an odd job, he purchased two lotto tickets. The following Saturday night he won the jackpot - nearly a million dollars.
The family told no one for three months and during this time an extraordinary series of events occurred. Almost from the day following his win, people started calling him to do work for him
aout' period (strangers)them - his company business started thriving; opportunities arose that opened doors for him. His confidence and self esteem rocketed!
While we were discussing this exciting story, we decided that the only change visible - or invisible - to the world was his beliefs about himself. He went from believing and seeing himself as a loser to believing and knowing he was a 'winner'. Somehow, people around him sensed this difference - without even seeing or speaking to him!
In quantum physics we can prove there is an energy exchange between people - we 'radiate' energy or vibes, or we 'sense' something different - whatever you want to call it. What we believe about ourselves or what we say 'inside our heads' about ourselves sends messages like beacons out to others.
So what beliefs do you have and what subsequent messages do your beacons send to others? Are you a 'winner' in anything - everything - you do ? Of course being a winner does not mean scoring more points, beating others or someone else necessarily losing! It could just be confidence in your own abilities; knowing that you are willing to do what it takes to be the best you can be; believing that you can do anything you set your mind to?
Or are you a 'loser' (of course you are not!)? How many toddlers believe they are losers and consequently don't even bother trying to walk, become coordinated or learn to speak? None. It's a peculiar habit children and adults adopt. Often from absorbing someone else's belief about us.
It's not true! No one is a 'loser' - or even 'unlucky' for that matter! If that's your thinking , and you continually tell yourself you are then it becomes your reality and reflects in everything you attempt to do. (Notice the word attempt - not do.)
What can you do to become a 'winner' if you are not already? Firstly, identify your beliefs about yourself and your abilities and talents and personality. From where did those beliefs emerge? Parents, siblings, school mates, past lovers, teachers , or sort of well meaning friends? Or did you do this all by yourself!
Then from an adult perspective, examine them. Are they true? Are you really an inherent loser? Are you genetically unlucky? If they are not, what would be more useful beliefs to have running around your system? Is there any proof that you are in fact a winner? Hey - you're the one sperm that made it out of several million who battled for the egg! So, you're a winner before you even hit this planet!
What if you believed you had won the lotto and without anyone else knowing you went about your life with the knowledge that you had this great win. ( It could be the lotto of life , not necessarily money) What differences would people unconsciously notice about you? How would you feel inside? What would you be telling yourself?
Having imagined what it would be like, try it! Make the choice to believe, see, hear and feel that you are a winner in all areas of life. It's like an old boyfriend of mine who used to drive me crazy because where ever we went he would always find a car park right where we needed one. I ,on the other hand, 'knew' I was unlucky with car parks!
When I finally analyzed the difference between us, I realized he not only believed he was lucky with car parks , he fully expected to find one each time. consequently, he was much more alert to small movements around cars and would often spot the person just about to leave. Whereas I would be speeding by, without careful observation because of course, I would never find a car space that close! until I changed what I told myself. You'll be pleased to know I am now incredibly lucky with car parks!
Change your life - change your thoughts - change your beliefs - become a winner - in thought first , and observe how , when you really believe it, it becomes the truth. Remember the brother's story and share it as a gift with your children!
